If you wish to use your own laptop within the department, you can use the UniOfCam-Guest wireless network, using your email or social-media accounts for authentication.

You should also be able to set up eduroam for your laptop (and mobile). This has the advantage that this system is available in universities across the world, and will automatically allow you to connect to other institutions' WiFi. Instructions can be found at Eduroam - UIS.

Alternatively, if there is a spare network port near you, then you can use this - see a system administrator to have your laptop registered. It is your responsibility to keep your laptop up-to-date with OS updates and virus-scanning software.

As with other use of the network, the same rules apply to your use of bandwidth via JANET.
