Software Downloads

Some commercial software is available to members of the Department of Physics under a site-licence. If you have a desktop on the LSC network, then this software is already installed. If you need to install it on your personal or group-owned laptop, then see below.

Mathematica

The latest version of Mathematica for Linux can be downloaded from Mathematica 12.0.0. Please contact Philip Blakely (pmb39) for an Activation key. For other operating systems, please see Physics CTA Software.

MatLab

You can access Matlab via an online portal at Mathworks. For many purposes, this should be sufficient.

However, if you still need a locally installed version, then the latest version of MatLab for Linux can be downloaded from MatLab R2018b.

Once downloaded, run:

	mkdir Matlab_2018b;
	cd Matlab_2018b;
	unzip ../matlab_R2018b_glnxa64.zip;
	./install

You will then need to choose an installation directory to which you have write access.

When asked, please contact Philip Blakely (pmb39) for an Activation key. For other operating systems, please see Physics CTA Software.
